Looking for unique and cutting edge projects that are changing the building industry? Western Massachusetts is the place for exploring! Visit three buildings designed to meet the Living Building Challenge (LBC), and a fourth using the most advanced cross laminated timber construction in the United States.
Our own Charley Stevenson will be helping to lead a tours of two recent Living Building Challenge projects: the Hitchcock Environmental Center and the Kern Center at Hampshire College. Upon completing this tour Attendees will be able to discuss the basic requirements of the Living Building Challenge, including unique systems and strategies used to meet this certification, including net zero water, net zero energy, and the Red List. We’ll also explore the collaborative approach and community engagement strategies used on Living Building Challenge projects to ensure project goals are met and can continue to make an impact following project completion.
